3) Ensure that businesses of the Society are conducted in agreement with the Act and its
by-law;
4) Contribute to CSHS’s newsletter, website and social media platforms;
5) Promote the society’s interests and actively participate in recruiting new members;
6) Have such other duties and powers as the board may specify.
d) Secretary
The secretary shall be a director. The secretary shall perform the usual duties pertaining to the
office of secretary and in particular shall:
1) Prepare minutes of general meetings and meetings of the board and distribute these
minutes following board approval;
2) Issue timely notice of meetings;
3) Maintain custody of the Society's records;
4) Promote the society’s interests and actively participate in recruiting new members;
5) Serve as editor of the CSHS bulletin/newsletter, and
6) Contribute to CSHS’s website.
e) Treasurer – The treasurer shall be a director. The treasurer shall perform the usual duties
pertaining to the office of treasurer and in particular shall:
1) In consultation with the board, approve payment of Society invoices and expenses;
2) Present a statement of the financial condition of the Society prior to the annual general
meeting as described in section 1.07 or upon request by the board;
3) Promote the society’s interests and actively participate in recruiting new members;
4) Contribute to CSHS’s newsletter, website and social media platform.
5) The treasurer’s term is up to five (5) years.
f) Communication Officer – The communication officer shall be a director. The
Communication officer shall perform the usual duties pertaining to the communication of the
society and in particular shall:
6) In consultation with the board, the President, the secretary, and/or the webmaster,
develop the society’s communication strategy to ensure a large delivery and diffusion
of the society’s communications and messages;
