SECTION 7 — OFFICERS


        7.01  Description of Offices

               Any of the following members can submit its candidacy for any of the position on the board:
               regular members, student members, honorary life members, and retired members. Unless
               otherwise specified by the board which may, subject to the Act modify, restrict or supplement
               such duties and powers, the offices of the Society, if designated and if officers are appointed,
               shall have the following duties and powers associated with their positions:

               a)  President of the Board – The president of the Board shall be a director. The president shall
                    be responsible for the over-all direction of the Society, and in particular shall:

                    1)  Preside at all meetings of the board and of the members of the Society;

                    2)  Serve as chair of the board;

                    3)  Represent the Society in dealing with affiliated entities as described in Section 1.09;

                    4)  Contribute to CSHS’s newsletter, website and social media platforms;

                    5)  Promote the society’s interests and actively participate in recruiting new members;

                    6)  Have such other duties and powers as the board may specify.




               b)  Past-President – The past-president shall be a director. The past-president shall assist the
                    president in charting the over-all direction of the Society and in particular shall:

                    1)  Chair the honors and awards committee;

                    2)  Represent the Society in dealing with affiliated entities in absence of the President;

                    3)  Contribute to CSHS’s newsletter, website and social media platforms;


                    4)  Promote the society’s interests and actively participate in recruiting new members;

                    5)  Have such other duties and powers as the board may specify.



               c)  Vice-President – The vice-president shall be a director. The vice-president shall focus on
                    issues related to the long-term functioning of the Society and in addition shall:

                    1)  If the president of the board is absent or is unable or refuses to act, the vice-president
                        of the board, when present, presides at all meetings of the board and of the members.

                    2)  In the absence of the president, assume the presidential duties;
